Anna’s birthday cake, the sunflower one from Frozen Fever, has started a whole new trend of caking baking and decorating through the party cake world. Any child who has seen Frozen Fever has now started switching preferences from ice blue snowflake dresses, to bright blue and sunflowers. “I want a Frozen Fever party Mummy!”
There’s just enough examples of Frozen Fever cake around to create a round up of the best. So, what is it about this cake?
- It’s blue
- It’s round
- It’s got yellow sunflowers
- It’s Anna’s cake!
Those are the main criteria, qualifying a birthday cake as a Frozen Fever birthday cake.
So, here’s my round up, in no particular order…
Frozen Fever cake: The original ice cream cake from the Disney Frozen Fever wrap party.
This cake was tweeted by one of the animators from Frozen Fever during the “Wrap party” for the film. Apparently, it was an actual ice-cream cake (just like in the film). It looks immense! The sunflowers are silk flowers on this one; most of those below are fondant sunflowers, which would take much longer to craft.
Frozen Fever cake: Abstract cake with sparkles
I love this cake because it’s different: it takes Anna’s birthday cake as inspiration, then turns it upside down a little and reverts back to snowflakes and sparkles for a bit. It qualifies as a Frozen Fever cake as it’s blue, round and has sunflowers, but it’s breaking the conventions already in these early days!
Frozen Fever cake: Party on a cake
This Frozen Fever cake is a party on a cake, there’s even a mini Frozen Fever cake on the cake! The cake features all our favourite characters and Olaf looks like he’s taking a cheeky taste of the mini cake. The cheerful bunting could only be improved by using the same design as the flags from Frozen Fever.
Frozen Fever cake: 3D effect ice skating Anna and Elsa
This cake is so neat and perfect, the sunflowers are all exactly the same and the icing swoops appear to be equal in length. But what I most enjoy about this cake is that the cardboard cut out of Elsa and Anna ice skating appears to be 3D, and it looks quite a lot like ice too!
Frozen Fever Cake: Sunflower roll cake
Haniela’s is starting to become a favourite of ours, and she’s inspired us with another genius Frozen Fever themed cake. This sunflower roll cake is stunning, the colours are so bright and the cake so perfectly rolled. Again, it complies with the rules (just!): Blue, round, sunflowers!
Frozen Fever Cake: two-tiers
Many of the Frozen Fever cakes in this round up are huge, like the original one from the film. We like this one because it is well proportioned for a normal kids party. Two layers of cake, with plenty of sunflowers, big and small.
Frozen Fever cake: Lit Anna and Elsa ice dancers
This Frozen Fever cake is on our list because of the actual 3D sculpture of Anna and Elsa on top. And it’s lit! Beautiful!
Frozen Fever Cake: Eaten by Olaf!
This cake is the most accurate cake to that seen in the film, the sunflowers are the right proportion, there’s frost on each layer and even Olaf has had a swipe at it, to reveal the chocolate layers inside. Genius!
Frozen Fever Cake: Simple, one tier
This is a lovely little cake. It’s just one tier, but it focusses so much love on Anna and Elsa. And are those Oreo’s in the middle of the sunflowers? There’s definitely M&M all the way round too. Winner!
Frozen Fever cake: mountainous cake
This cake appears to be on the scale of the North Mountain! It’s huuuuge. It features countless tiers but remains distinctly Frozen Fever with it’s sunflowers.
